The Financial Education Fund (FEF) is a challenge fund having held two competitive application rounds resulting in fifteen funded grantees in eight African countries.
Funded projects cover a diversity of delivery channels and different target audiences to determine the relative efficiency and effectiveness of different models of financial education to equip poor people in Africa with the skills and knowledge to manage their finances effectively and protect them from exploitation.
Strong emphasis is placed on impact evaluation which is built into each project as a core operational component, including the preparation of baseline studies, ongoing monitoring, and final evaluation.
