FEF recognises that solutions cannot simply be transported from one country to another; however, we hope that the links below will be a source of information and ideas. They are a work in progress. We will be including more links to projects in Africa and developing countries in future.

FSD Kenya
The Financial Sector Deepening (FSD) Trust was established in early 2005 to support the development of financial markets in Kenya. It set up the Financial Education Partnership (FEP), a private-public initiative, to develop a financial education pogramme in Kenya. FEF has partnered with FEP to provide joint funding for projects in Kenya.

International Gateway for Financial Education
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has established the International Gateway for Financial Education to describe, analyse and assess the effectiveness of programmes to improve financial literacy. This includes information per country (OECD members and non-members) as well as access to numerous publications and documents.

Global Financial Education Program
The Global Financial Education Program is the first large-scale programme targeted at those just above and below the poverty line in developing countries. It is led by a strategic partnership between two US-based organisations, Microfinance Opportunities and Freedom from Hunger. It develops curriculum targeted at low-income households and trains a broad range of service organisations to use it.

My Money
MyMoney.gov is the US government's website dedicated to teaching Americans the basics about financial education. It also provides access to various toolkits and other resources.

National Institute of Adult Continuing Education
The National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (England and Wales) has an increasing focus on financial education. The website includes contributions to the national strategy and other resources.

National Strategy for Financial Capacity
The UK financial services regulator leads the National Strategy for Financial Capacity. The website includes a range of tools and resources.

A UK website conceived as a practical guide to family finance with access to practical tools, workshops

Lets Talk About Money
The UK Let’s Talk About Money project focuses on supporting offenders’, ex-offenders’ and their family financial need. It includes a money guide that can be downloaded from the website.

FinMark Trust
FinMark Trust’s mission Is “Making financial markets work for the poor. It aims to promote and support policy and institutional development towards increasing access to financial services for the unbanked and underbanked in Africa. Under its consumer financial empowerment theme, FinMark Trust aims to bring together the three facets of consumer financial empowerment: rights, recourse and financial literacy (or capability).

FinScope
FinScope surveys provide information on consumers' and business owners’ perceptions about financial services and issues. The data provides insights into how consumers source their income and manage their financial lives. FinScope surveys have been conducted in nine African countries: Botswana, Kenya, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. Surveys are being conducted or planned in another five countries: Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria and Rwanda.

The Microfinance Gateway
A comprehensive online resource for the microfinance community. The library includes a number of documents related to financial education.
