Is the FEF divided into country funds? Is there a maximum amount per country?
No. There is a maximum amount per grant (£250 000) and no specific limit for any country. The competition takes place between all applicants. If there are a high number of good applications in a specific country, there will not be any restriction on the total amount awarded to applicants in that country. Besides, possible links and leverage between several projects would be welcome.
My organisation wants to focus on a specific group such as women, young people or small-scale farmers. Is this acceptable?
Yes it is, but you need to show that this target group is part of the low-income population. Remember that you need to measure the impact of the project (following the continuum of knowledge, skill, attitude and behavior, as described in the Guidance on project impact evaluation.
Can an organisation submit several concept notes?
Yes you can, but it might be advisable to focus on one good idea and develop it adequately rather than send several less thought through concept notes. If you are in any doubt about the best approach, please contact the FEF management team.
Can I submit an application for a project that will take place in several countries?
Yes, as long as the activities take place in the focus countries or, for a regional project, if most of the activities will be in the focus countries.
